SANESA DISCIPLINES: JUMPING

Jumping (previously called showjumping) is one of the most popular equestrian sports involving a thrilling mix of precision, control, and speed.

Riders guide their horses around a course of brightly coloured obstacles. The aim? To clear every fence without knocking one down or refusing. Each knock or refusal adds penalties to your score. If you go clear, you’ll face a jump-off, which is a shortened course with higher stakes, where the fastest clear round wins!

Jumping falls under the South African Equestrian Federation (SAEF) and is also a recognised discipline of the FEI (Fédération Équestre Internationale).
